CLEANING CHEMICALS

The cleaning is a very comprehensive task and it is even more intricate when it comes to the cleaning in a 5 Star category hotel. The cleaning chemicals can be defined as “Chemicals that ease the cleaning process by the virtue of their chemical properties”. Mostly, they loosen up the soil and make the cleaning easier. If I go on to bifurcate the cleaning chemicals, they can be classified into two heads-

1. ECOFRIENDLY/ GREEN CHEMICALS

 2. NON- ECOFRIENDLY.

The green chemicals are environment friendly chemicals and they do not harm the environment during their production as well as after they are used.

On the other hand, the Non-Ecofriendly chemicals have an effect over the environment during their production as well as after their usage.

In most of the hotels, different chemicals are used for the cleaning of different surfaces for example, chemical for the cleaning of bathroom tiles, toilet bowls, glass cleaner etc. whereas there are some low category hotels also which use all purpose cleaning chemical for all the surfaces.

The common range of chemicals used in hotels is TASKI  R series by Diversey. There is a series of 9 Chemicals used for cleaning of different surfaces. These are told below:

In very few hotels which are sensitive towards environment like ITC Hotels, use Green Chemicals. The list is told below:

GLANCE NA	Glass Cleaner & Multi-purpose cleaner
GOODSENSE	Liquid Air-Freshener
CREW	Bathroom Cleaner and Scale remover.

(Note: The above-mentioned Chemicals are exclusively used in ITC Hotels and are not subject to any other hotel)
